Germany offers school groups a rare combination of twentieth-century history that can be walked rather than read about, and world-class science and engineering institutions that welcome young visitors. Few countries document their own difficult past as openly as Germany: the Topography of Terror, the Stasi Museum in Lichtenberg and the Sachsenhausen Memorial near Oranienburg all present primary evidence with careful educational framing.
