Overview

About this trip

Experience the heart of Kenya on an exciting and rewarding journey combining community engagement, character building, wildlife conservation and an unforgettable African safari. Begin in Nairobi with visits to inspiring elephant and giraffe conservation projects before spending four meaningful days volunteering at a childcare centre on the outskirts of the city.

Working alongside local staff, you will support informal learning, creative activities, games and supervised play while developing valuable life skills of your own. The experience encourages teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving, while helping you grow in confidence, patience, empathy and cultural awareness. It is an opportunity to step outside your comfort zone, take on responsibility and gain a deeper understanding of life within another community.

The adventure then moves into the spectacular Masai Mara, travelling through the dramatic Great Rift Valley before heading out on exhilarating game drives in search of elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs and Africa’s legendary Big Five. Combining positive action with extraordinary wildlife encounters, this is far more than a school trip—it is a journey of discovery, personal growth and unforgettable experiences that will remain with you long after you return home.

By the end of your trip, you'll leave with a profound sense of accomplishment, new friendships, and a certificate of participation, marking your positive impact and the invaluable experiences gained.

  • Ask permission before photographing people.
  • On safari, keep quiet, stay in the vehicle and follow your guide without exception.
